Often caused by two distinct problems: a severe lack of airflow (due to a plugged furnace filter or failed blower motor) or a critically low refrigerant charge. If it's low on refrigerant, there's a leak somewhere in the copper lines that must be found and repaired before recharging. There can be other causes too — that's what the diagnostic is for.
Is it worth repairing an R-22 unit?
Canada phased out R-22 refrigerant in 2020. If your AC uses R-22 and has a significant refrigerant leak, repair may not be cost-effective — R-22 is extremely expensive when available at all.
